RoyPks Posted February 6, 2016 Posted February 6, 2016 I have a Cannon iP4850 printer and is ha always worked fine in the past but lately it seems to have a problem when printing in grey-scale, the top half of the page is fine but the bottom is very faint, the text is visible but unreadable. I have tried all the suggestions suggested in the manual. Any thought of how to solve this problem. Thanks. Quote
KenB Posted February 8, 2016 Posted February 8, 2016 Hi Roy Printers are not my forte - hence the slow response. When you say tried all the suggestions suggested in the manual. Have you deleted and re-installed the drivers ? I assume that the page prints OK if you select colour ? Is the black cartridge full - ie. not low on ink ? Is the black cartridge a Canon or a clone ? GRANDAD Posted February 8, 2016 Posted February 8, 2016 just a thought again--have you ran two pages off together [one straight after the other] is the print ok for half the first page but faint for the bottom half of page one and faint page two? I think its worth changing the clone BLACK ink for an other, I've had some problems with generic inks in the past but in fairness I always use them only due to costs. Quote
RoyPks Posted February 8, 2016 Author Posted February 8, 2016 Changed the ink cartridge and printed 2 sheets in grey scale all OK, therefore will hope all is solved. Thanks for your help. Quote
