Hi,

The screenshot doesn't show the updates very clearly, but I can't see the Win10 upgrade in your list.

The update to Win10 used to be an 'Optional' update..... that has now changed to a 'Recommended' update.

If the 'Give me recommended updates the same way I receive important update' option is enabled, the update will not only be downloaded, but the installation will be started.

So make sure this option is not ticked in your Windows Updates settings.

Thanks Starbuck. I took the tick out of that " give me recommended the same way" and I have " check for updates, but let me choose if i want them " When I went back and looked, all the ticks are gone from recommended boxes.

Hi,

Sorry for the delay....

Seems there's only one that you could install.... but that's up to you.

Depends if you are having the problem that it's designed to fix.

KB2976978:

The Windows 8/8.1 nagware patch that touts the Windows 10 upgrade, is now up to version 11.

KB3123862:

This update adds capabilities to some computers that lets users easily learn about Windows 10 or start an upgrade to Windows 10

KB3135449:

Hardly any info on this one.

When in doubt, leave it out.

KB3132080:

This fixes the logon process which may hang at the "Welcome" screen or the "Please wait for the User Profile Service" error message window.

Thanks Starbuck 👍 I haven't rebooted tonight, but I didn't have any trouble at logging in before the updates, so I guess I'm good to go. Greatly appreciated.

Any change in what we look for in the updates. I stuck to the important ones again " miss all recommend ones. Thanks guys " ;-)

If an update is really necessary it'll be in the 'important' list.

So if you just stick to those, you'll be ok.

I hardly ever install the recommended ones. (especially with the Win10 coming through on the recommended list.)
