monirkhan Posted February 26, 2016 Posted February 26, 2016 I have been facing this issue for 15-20 days. My Firefox crashed a lot and it becomes too slow. How can I solve this problem? Quote
Starbuck Posted February 26, 2016 Posted February 26, 2016 Hi monirkhan and welcome to FPCH. Have you tried resetting Firefox back to the defaults? This will usually clear any problems. To Reset Firefox At the top of the Firefox window, click the Help menu and select Troubleshooting Information Click the Reset Firefox… button in the upper-right corner of the Troubleshooting Information page. To continue, click Reset Firefox in the confirmation window that opens. Firefox will close and be reset. When it's done, a window will list the information that was imported. Click Finish and Firefox will open. Note: After the reset is finished, your old Firefox profile information will be placed on your desktop in a folder named "Old Firefox Data." If the reset didn't fix your problem you can restore some of the information not saved by copying files to the new profile that was created. If you don't need this folder any longer, you should delete it as it contains sensitive information. The reset feature works by creating a new profile folder for you while saving your most important data. Firefox will try to keep the following data: Bookmarks Browsing history Passwords Cookies Web form auto-fill information Personal dictionary Quote Member of:UNITE
monirkhan Posted March 4, 2016 Author Posted March 4, 2016 I have saved my password of different social sites and forums. If I reset Firefox, is there any chance of loosing those password? Quote
KenB Posted March 4, 2016 Posted March 4, 2016 If I reset Firefox, is there any chance of loosing those password? Hi, Starbuck posted the following : Firefox will try to keep the following data: Bookmarks Browsing history Passwords Cookies Web form auto-fill information Personal dictionary F-Fox will try to keep passwords etc ....there are no guarantees. F-Fox passwords are stored in a database [called Key3] or a file named "Logins.json" If you were concerned you could copy these two files - they are located .... Windows Key + R Type in .... %APPDATA%\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\ ...hit Return Click on the folder that has "default" after it. Locate the files > right click > copy Paste them into a folder on your Desktop or somewhere easy to locate if necessary. If there is a problem you should be able to copy the files back to the original location. You will not be able to access the files - not without specific software. I suggest that you write out the passwords if you can remember them ....just in case. Starbuck Posted March 4, 2016 Posted March 4, 2016 I suggest that you write out the passwords if you can remember them ....just in case. The saved passwords in Firefox are easy to view. Open Firefox..... click Tools >> Options >> Security >> under Logins click Saved Logins On the Saved Logins page click Show Passwords. Easiest way to copy them is to take a screenshot and save it.
