lady_remo Posted February 26, 2008 Posted February 26, 2008 Hi all, my parents have been having trouble recently with someone trying to access their online bank account. I've done a a full scan for virus, adaware and spyware on their pc but nothing major has shown up. To give them ( and me) piece of mind could anyone suggest searching for something specific? Any help would be hugely appreciated. Quote
maynardvdm Posted February 26, 2008 Posted February 26, 2008 Hi Download HijackThis from trendsecure and run only the scan and save log file. Then post the log file in the HijackThis section. Then Seth will see what is lurking in your pc. Quote We are all members helping other members. Please return here where you may be able to help someone else. lady_remo Posted February 26, 2008 Author Posted February 26, 2008 At the moment I just use the free version of AVG as it's always been pretty reliable. Quote

AdvancedSetup Posted February 26, 2008 Posted February 26, 2008 Well Spybot and AdAware though once great are no longer quite up to par with some of the current Malware out on the Internet. For now I would recommend to uninstall both of them and then download and install both of these applications which are much more up to date on removing Malware/Spyware from systems these days. Make sure you allow both of them to update their definition files and then run a scan on your system and then have them clean up any entries found. Once both of these have run and scanned/cleaned your system then run another HiJackThis Log Only and post that new log.
