[Solved] What is a torrent

A neighbour asked me last week "what is a torrent"

my answer was "I dont know but fairly sure they are very dangerous"

 

I googled for info but left it alone.

They are only dangerous if you download them from dodgy websites!

 

I download disc images from the Raspberry Pi website as torrents and the Ubuntu website.
