bobbyjimmy Posted February 27, 2008 Posted February 27, 2008 Hi When my pc is cold it is taking 5 or more attempts to boot but once it is warm it will boot first time. Any ideas? Quote
RandyL Posted February 27, 2008 Posted February 27, 2008 Hi bobby; What happens when the PC fails to boot? Can you describe it? Do you get any error messages? If so exactly what are they. I have a wild guess but it's sure to be wrong without knowing more. Also can you tell us more about your PC such as the operating system you use, make/model etc. Please post back; RandyL Quote We are all members helping other members. bobbyjimmy Posted February 27, 2008 Author Posted February 27, 2008 There aren't any error messages, there's power to the unit and the monitor makes 2 sort of clicking noises and then goes off, but when it works the monitor makes 3 clicking noises. Once it's warm it will boot up fine. It's a Dell Optiplex GX270, with Windows XP. Quote
RandyL Posted February 28, 2008 Posted February 28, 2008 Hi; So this is not an issue of booting up but rather the monitor won't display and is making noise right? Have you tried a different monitor on this desktop? Quote We are all members helping other members. Please return here where you may be able to help someone else.
