tismehi Posted May 22, 2016 Posted May 22, 2016 I've so far resisted the temptation to move from w 8.1 to w 10. My concern is that I'm worried that things like printers, routers, etc, will have trouble working properly. I'm wondering is the level of support for w 10 at a healthy stage at this time - or should I wait. Quote
KenB Posted May 22, 2016 Posted May 22, 2016 Hi, I have a really old Epson printer and managed to load a driver for it in Win 10. You should have no problem with your router. You may have a problem with wireless adapters if you have an old USB one [ re drivers ] - but they are cheap enough to replace. Win 10 is well established and support, by way of updates etc is regular. If you are up-grading from 8.1 to 10 it would probably be best if you created an image of your present system onto an external hard drive. If you do this then, if the upgrade fails, at least you can revert back to what you have at present. Hope this helps. Post the make and model number of the printer. It may be possible to check for drivers. If it works with 8.1 there should be no problem with Win-10 Quote There is an email going around offering processed pork - gelatin - and salt in a can ......this is simply SPAM !! ExTS Admin Starbuck Posted May 22, 2016 ExTS Admin Posted May 22, 2016 Hi tismehi, Just to add to the information that Ken has given you....... My Win8.1 laptop had no problem upgrading to Win10... no driver issues at all. On my Desktop (Win7) I did have WiFi adapter issues, but found that installing Win8 drivers for my Netgear adapter worked fine. Quote Member of:UNITE
