Hi and welcome to ExTS :)

Try the following ( it sometimes works )

Take the battery out.

Unplug the charger connection.

Press and hold the power button for 10 - 20 seconds

Leave the battery out and connect the charger.

Try it now.

[ You have Win 8 as your OS in your profile and posted in Win 10 .....please confirm your operating system ]

There is an email going around offering processed pork - gelatin - and salt in a can ......this is simply SPAM !!

Hi Mark

Still trying to get the overall picture.

After you upgraded to Win-10 did it ever boot up?

How old is the machine?

Do you have the original Win-8 installation disk or was Win-8 pre-installed ?

If you have a disk you could try re-installing Win 8.

If you have data on the drive that you want see below ref. enclosure / caddy

If Win 10 was up and running ....

It is possible to create a Win-10 repair disk using another Win-10 system

see here - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5F2vmWqX3QE

This is worth a try to get you to the repair options.

If you get nowhere with that I am thinking that this may well be a hard-disk problem.

Are you confident enough to take it out ?

If so I would suggest connecting it up to another machine to see if it is accessible.

To do this you would need a 2.5 inch enclosure [ Caddy ] - these are quite cheap.

Let me know what you wish to do.
