WPS Button flashing/orange/red

Hi all

Hope this is the appropriate place!!

I get my internet via a BT landline, Sky Broadband and an old o2 wireless router (As stated am now on sky broadband but all been fine for years so why change to a new Sky router when all is fine!) Just a few minutes ago I lost internet connection briefly and the WPS button on my router continually flashed orange and then turned to red. The internet button on my router was dead but then came on after a period of rapid flashing and the WPS button has now stopped flashing completely.

All now seems normal with no indication from my AV of anything amiss (AV Windows defender for my Windows 8.1) I have done a Google on this issue and possibly someone has tried to hi jack my router connection? I am also informed my router will have combated the attempt by shutting down after so many attempted hacks and then back to normal after a short time which seems to fit what has happened.

Can any of you guys please confirm my likely situation at present.
