[Solved] Is Ransom note cleaner programme safe?

I noticed a link to 'Ransom note cleaner' on this forum but when I try to run/download it Windows steps in and blocks with a message 'Windows has stopped a potentially unsafe programme'

My question is do I over ride the advise and download anyway?

Also has anyone got any information about this any ransomware programme even if it is safe will it dame registers etc?

Hi Ray,

 

Yes, the program is perfectly safe.

 

Is this the sort of window you are getting? (we get this sometimes with FRST on Win8 )

If so, click on More Info

 

Then you'll get a page similar to this...........

Click on Run Anyway

 

or, if the message is from your AntiVirus program, you should be able to tell the AV to make an exception.

Note:

Unless you are trying to clean any notes, screens etc left behind after removing Ransomware..... you don't need to run this program.

It won't stop you from getting infected and it won't clean the infection.
