hzydon Posted October 1, 2016 Posted October 1, 2016 Hey, I built this PC back in 2013 and the PSU died sometime last year, I have only recently got a new PSU and when trying to boot the system bluescreened, turned off instantly, didn't see the error code. Now when I booted it up next it went through disk repair, took like an hour or so. But now when I turn the system on it goes through the boot process until it gets to the Windows welcome screen, after that it comes up with a black screen with the cursor which can be moved. I have tried booting in to repair mode by spamming the F8 key but it requires an admin password which I do not remember. Is there are way to either reset the password or factory restore the system? KenB Posted October 4, 2016 Posted October 4, 2016 Hi and welcome to ExTS Sorry for the slow reply - I have been away for a few days. Is there are way to either reset the password or factory restore the system? We cannot assist with passwords - sorry. I built this PC back in 2013 If you built the machine surely you have the disk with the OS on it ? You can use this to re-install. If you take the Hard-Drive out and connect it up to another machine - can you access the disk ?
