neill10 Posted October 23, 2016 Posted October 23, 2016 Hi all I'll try and make a long one short, using Windows 7, the other night we lost power which crashed the system, my wife re-booted but because we have a multi screen set up the boot screen is displayed on monitor that was not on. Now we get to the prob. because she didn't see anything happening she switched off and on again leaving the screen at boot continue with 2 options return to normal boot and delete all recovery dater and attempt to boot. Ok now we get to it my keyboard will not communicate with the computer vie usb or ps2 so I'm well and truly stuck any ideas? Thanks chaps Neill Quote
KenB Posted October 24, 2016 Posted October 24, 2016 Hi Neill, Does the system work if you tap F8 constantly after switching on. At the Advanced Options screen select Safe Mode. Screen will look odd due to only basic drivers being loaded. Quote There is an email going around offering processed pork - gelatin - and salt in a can ......this is simply SPAM !! neill10 Posted October 24, 2016 Author Posted October 24, 2016 Hi Ken thanks for replying. The thing is I can't get the key board to work until an os is running it just will not talk no matter what I do .Begining to think the way ahead is a new hd,reinstall and then copy all contents over. Loads of fun just what I need! Quote
KenB Posted October 25, 2016 Posted October 25, 2016 Hi, I can't get the key board to work until an os is running Ah - I had it the other way around. Assuming this is a desktop ........ Try taking the CMOS battery out for 1 minute then replace [ note the + is usually on top ] - this will reset the BIOS to defaults. Hopefully this will do it for you.
