RustyKnight Posted October 31, 2016 Posted October 31, 2016 Sorry if this has been asked elsewhere but I couldn't find anything. I'm trying to change the DNS server to OpenDNS on Windows 7 but every time I reboot it goes back to the original settings. When I was using a wifi connection I had an OpenDNS software that checked the settings on boot but since my wifi connection stopped working and I've gone wired the software stopped working so I uninstalled it, now I can't seem to find it to try downloading it again. So how do I change my DNS settings and make them permanent? Quote [Windows 7, Windows 8.1, Ubuntu MATE, Linux Mint, Chromebook] [several Raspberry Pi running various versions of Raspbian]
ExTS Admin Starbuck Posted October 31, 2016 ExTS Admin Posted October 31, 2016 Hi, OpenDNS is not something that I've personally used, but have found these links that may help: How to Switch to OpenDNS or Google DNS to Speed Up Web Browsing DNS Addressing - How to Change in Windows 7 Use OpenDNS Quote Member of:UNITE
RustyKnight Posted November 1, 2016 Author Posted November 1, 2016 I followed those instructions but every time I reboot it just switches back to auto. I think I've cured it now. I managed to download the OpenDNS Updater program again. Quote [Windows 7, Windows 8.1, Ubuntu MATE, Linux Mint, Chromebook] [several Raspberry Pi running various versions of Raspbian]
