PEV Posted November 4, 2016 Posted November 4, 2016 Hi everyone. Just booted up my Desk top PC (windows 8.1) to find message on my desk top 'True Key' has been installed! Worried might be a virus etc I googled 'true key' to learn it is an intel programme and has got some uncomplimentary comments! Such as is clumsy and slows down your PC. I am annoyed that this programme has been able to install on my PC without my permission! Anyway I have managed to uninstall it but would like anyone's advice?comments on this. Also a bit worrying is at least one person (Windows 10 user) on the Google forum has experienced True Key keeps re installing Hope this is not so in my case but I will know next time I restart my PC. Your thoughts please. Thanks Ray Quote
KenB Posted November 4, 2016 Posted November 4, 2016 Hi Ray, "True Key" is a "legitimate" piece of software from Intel Security. It was probably piggy-backed onto something else that you installed. It is a password manager and the free version allows up to 15 passwords to be stored. After that - you have to pay. If you have uninstalled it - that should be the last you see of it. :) Quote There is an email going around offering processed pork - gelatin - and salt in a can ......this is simply SPAM !!
