KenB Posted February 3, 2017 Posted February 3, 2017 Hi Bob LogMe-In is a piece of software that you can have on your computer which allows you to access the computer from anywhere - assuming the computer is switched on. Once logged in you have full access to the files etc. and can even open Word and type. The words will appear on the screen of the remote computer [ the one with LogMe-In on. In other words - complete control. I have used this in the past. I assume your friend doesn't have LogMe-In on his system? What was the email suggesting ? KenB Posted February 3, 2017 Posted February 3, 2017 Hi Bob If he doesn't want it [ it used to be totally free - I now see that you get a free trial and then it is paid for ] you can remove it. I found this regarding removing LogMe-In Open Command Prompt (If in Windows Vista or newer, make sure you run Command Prompt as an Administrator) To do this Open Search - type in ....command prompt ......in the left panel right click on "Command Prompt" and click on "Run as Administrator" Type cd "C:\Program Files (x86)\LogMeIn\x86" .........(x64 if using a 64-bit OS) and hit Enter. Type logmein uninstall and hit Enter. Once the uninstall is complete, reboot the computer. It may be worth taking a look in Add / Remove to see if it is listed there. If it is try removing it from there. There is always a possibility that it is not on his system at all. I would have thought that he would be aware of it if it is.
