This is a very annoying pop-up. I have obviously clicked on something awful but how do I get rid of the constant blackmailing pop-ups?

Hi Jim,

First thing to try would be MalwareBytes.

I do know that the owners of this DriverWhiz complained to MalwareBytes because MB was targeting and removing their software.

MB refused to remove the detection lol.

Scan your computer with Malwarebytes Anti Malware

MalwareBytes version 3 is now available, but If you still have version 2 installed ..... Then just update the definitions and scan with that.

If you don't have MalwareBytes installed........

On installation the 14 day trial version will begin.

At the end of the 14 day trial, the program will switch to the free version. (and you will lose some of the functions)

Malwarebytes 3.0 Free will have the same capabilities as Malwarebytes Anti-Malware Free, but with a 3x to 4x scan speed improvement.

  • Download Malwarebytes 3 and save it to your desktop
  • Double click the desktop icon, click Run, then OK
  • Click Next
  • Select I accept the agreement then continue to click Next then finally click Install
  • Click Finish

.

MalwareBytes will now open to the Dashboard.

All protection should now enable and the update process should begin.

Once the update process has completed, Click Scan Now to start your Threat scan.

To find the reports

  • From the main Dashboard click Reports (left hand side)
  • Double click on the scan log which shows the Date and time of the scan that showed the infections.
  • Click Export >> Copy to Clipboard
  • Paste the contents of the clipboard into your reply.

Thanks for answering my plea Starbuck and for the malwarebytes link. It has worked, no more driverwhiz blackmail pups. It found 677 of them and this is a fresh copy of W7 after my linux escapade. So it's not a month old!.

That laptop by the way with its intermittent optical disk problem had to be returned. I got my money back. Thanks again.

Kind regards.

Jim.
