KenB Posted June 11, 2017 Posted June 11, 2017 Hi, Try the following: Right click on the Chrome icon > [ you may need to right click on Chrome again from the list ] Click on Properties > Security Under "Group or User Names" you should see "System" - Your Name - "Administrators" Below it should tell you that "Full Control" - "Modify" - etc are set to - "Allow". Let me know if this is the case. Then click on "Advanced" [ just to check ] Your name - Administrators - etc should all show "Full Control" Let me know if this is the case. ====================== You could also give this "Chrome Cleanup" tool a try - click here Quote There is an email going around offering processed pork - gelatin - and salt in a can ......this is simply SPAM !! jimmyedwards Posted June 12, 2017 Author Posted June 12, 2017 I tried that and Full Control ,modify, write and special permissions are not checked but in advanced full control has allow. I keep trying to add an attachment but I cant so let me try it in email. Quote
KenB Posted June 12, 2017 Posted June 12, 2017 Hi, Not to worry about adding an image from your screen. I have taken an image from mine. If I understand you correctly - your System settings are not checked as mine are. Can you highlight your name - then click on the "Edit" button Your personal settings should all say "Allow" - if they say "Deny" you will not be able to access the net with these settings. Can you please confirm. Quote There is an email going around offering processed pork - gelatin - and salt in a can ......this is simply SPAM !! KenB Posted June 13, 2017 Posted June 13, 2017 Hi again, ,I got a new modem for my wi-fi yesterday We have to now assume that it is a setting in the router that is blocking Chrome. Try this first: You need to get to "Network and Sharing Centre" and take a look at the IPv6 settings in "Properties" click here If Internet Protocol v6 [ IPv6] is checked - un-check it and click OK. If it isn't checked - then put a check in the box and click OK. ============ Let me know the make and model number of the new router that you have please. KenB Posted June 16, 2017 Posted June 16, 2017 I am away for a few days and internet connection is very poor !! I will try to add to this if I can. Looking up your router now [ hopefully !! ] Do you get the same problem if you use a cable and / or wireless to connect ? EDITED: Download your user guide from here -click here To access the router software: Click on one of the browsers that work. In the address bar at the top type - 192.168.0.1 The username = admin The password = password [see page 22] Make sure Parental Control is off - there should NOT be a tick in the box. [ see page 23 ] If you have to make changes click "Apply" Quote There is an email going around offering processed pork - gelatin - and salt in a can ......this is simply SPAM !!
