Greenveg Posted November 20, 2017 Posted November 20, 2017 I have a Samsung Galaxy J3 (2016) phone, and I have transferred photos to my PC Windows 7 without any problem. When I try now, I cannot copy and paste to my PC. After coupling the phone to my PC with the USB cable, photos showing on the PC are all wrongly rotated, and my PC will not allow me to rotate. The same photos on the phone are correctly rotated. I choose a photo from the phone, press copy, but when I go to My Pictures, it will not paste. Quote
KenB Posted November 20, 2017 Posted November 20, 2017 Hi, If you have the photo file [ phone ] open - and also a file on your pc open Can you drag and drop a photo from the phone to the pc ? [ this is easier with a mouse ] [ This may remove it from the phone ] There are a few suggestions here - not sure if this will help or not but may be worth reading through. click here Quote There is an email going around offering processed pork - gelatin - and salt in a can ......this is simply SPAM !! Greenveg Posted November 20, 2017 Author Posted November 20, 2017 I have done what you have suggested, and it works. The photo is still on the phone. I am having a problem however trying to move a video (film ) from my phone to PC. The video plays ok on the phone, but I cannot seem to copy and paste to my PC. I have copied and pasted videos from phone to PC before, no problem. Quote

Greenveg Posted November 21, 2017 Author Posted November 21, 2017 I have tried to drag and drop, without success. When I connect the phone to my PC, and I locate the video from the phone, it will play on my PC. I select copy and, say, open My Documents, it will actually paste. When I try to open it , it says " This folder is empty". Quote
Greenveg Posted November 21, 2017 Author Posted November 21, 2017 This is the video, it mentions BlueRay. I don't know if that means anything. Quote
ExTS Admin Starbuck Posted November 21, 2017 ExTS Admin Posted November 21, 2017 Have always used drag and drop for file/videos etc. This isn't something that copy/paste was designed for. When moving pics/films between my pc/phone/tablet, I connect the 2 and then work from the pc screen. Open folders from both... onto the PC screen. Right click on the file to move.... hold the right click in and move to the destination folder. Release the right click on select copy or move from the menu (which ever you want to do ) This is the video, it mentions BlueRay. I don't know if that means anything. That won't make any difference. It's not actually a BluRay ..... it means that it was copied from a BluRay. Chances are it'll be an Mp4 or an MKV file format. Like this... https://i.imgur.com/5ORxebH.png It says BluRay, but the file format is Mp4. Quote Member of:UNITE
Greenveg Posted November 21, 2017 Author Posted November 21, 2017 Can you please tell me what folder I should use as well as the phone folder, and how do I put the two folders on the PC sreen. Quote
ExTS Admin Starbuck Posted November 21, 2017 ExTS Admin Posted November 21, 2017 (edited) It's easier to watch a video, than try to explain.... but it is very easy. Probably best to move anything from the phone to the desktop. It's easy to move stuff from the desktop to the required folder afterwards ( music,Documents, Videos etc ) Btw: After coupling the phone to my PC with the USB cable, photos showing on the PC are all wrongly rotated, and my PC will not allow me to rotate.I get this as well sometimes, but I have no problem in rotating them. If you copy or move them to the PC, you should be able to rotate them. If you are just viewing them on the PC ( with the phone connected) then it may not let you do that. Greenveg Posted November 22, 2017 Author Posted November 22, 2017 I have watched the video. It shows how to copy and paste. I cannot see any mention of drag and drop. To drag and drop, do I have to have the desktop and the selected file from the phone screens showing at the same time. If so, can you tell me how to do it please. Quote
ExTS Admin Starbuck Posted November 22, 2017 ExTS Admin Posted November 22, 2017 To drag and drop, do I have to have the desktop and the selected file from the phone screens showing at the same time.Yes. The folder you are working from (on your phone) and the destination folder (Desktop) have to be both showing... it's a lot easier this way. Connect your phone to the PC. From Windows Explorer, open the phone. Select the folder that contains the picture or video you want to copy over. Select the picture by RIGHT clicking on it.... holding the click in, drag the file to the Desktop. When you release the right click, a menu will pop up.... select copy to copy the picture over ( this still leaves the original file on your phone) or Select move (this will move the picture to the Desktop and will remove it from your phone) Use whichever you want. A quick video I made to show how easy this is.. Quote Member of:UNITE
Greenveg Posted November 22, 2017 Author Posted November 22, 2017 I have realised that I needed to shrink the desktop screen to show both screens. Once this was done, I could drag and drop and choose a folder to copy it in. Many thanks. Quote
