I bought a new HP laptop last November and I was able to connect my blackberry 9360 curve via a USB port and transfer pictures

from the mobile to my laptop. This will not work now.

Before I was given the option of charging or transferring files.

Now it just charges and I am given no other option.

I just tried it on my old desktop and the same problem happens there too.

Back on the laptop if I go to Devices and printers, troubleshooting it does say

"Issue found, USB composite device cannot work properly with USB 3.0

USB composite device is an older USB device and might not work with USB 3.0".

I have 3 USB ports and have tried it in every port.

Funny thing is it has been working fine every time I tried before in the last 2 months.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Sounds like it's an issue with the phone then.

How many usb 2 and usb 3 ports do you have?

On the old desktop are all of the usb ports usb 2?

On the new laptop I have 1 USB 2 and 2 USB 3 ports. It used to work fine in all of them.

On the older (2010) desktop all are USB 2 ports.

I took the back off the phone, removed the SIM card replaced it, put the back on and still the same problem.

Had a read around and kept reading about a media card so took the back off and had another look, there was another card so I removed it, replaced

it, but the back on and it is working fine again now. So it would appear the media card needed repositioning.

Thanks for your help.

Thanks for letting us know.

That bit of information may come in handy :)
