tindap Posted March 2, 2008 Posted March 2, 2008 I had a d'oh moment earlier... I deleted all of my USB filter drivers on my desktop computer (I'm writing from my laptop), and now have no way (that i can think of) of restoring them, seeing as my mouse/keyboard etc are all USB devices, and my PC doesn't even have a ps2 port to speak of... I first thought of using a CD set to aurorun the exe to re-install the drivers... But seeing as i needed my mouse/keyboard in order to click all of the shiney 'next' buttons, this didn't go very well... Any advice on ways to get around this...? Or even a way to make the exe run without the need for my confirmation...? Many thanks in advavce (unless you can't help, of course ;]) Tindap Quote
Tony D Posted March 2, 2008 Posted March 2, 2008 on restart, your computer should see the USB hubs as new devices and reload them. Have you restarted the machine? tindap Posted March 2, 2008 Author Posted March 2, 2008 on restart' date=' your computer should see the USB hubs as new devices and reload them. Have you restarted the machine?[/quote'] I've restarted numerous times... And the USB ports still work, as i can use the Fkeys to use startup options before windows boots... Once windows is up and running, however, it seems to have forgotten that they exist.. The most life i've gotten out of it is the fact that my keyboard's 'numlock' light is on, but i can't toggle it off again, or any of the other locks for that matter, and it still won't recognise it. Guest Wolfeymole Posted March 3, 2008 Posted March 3, 2008 Ok let me get this right, the usb connections work with say a keyboard plugged in when your in the bios? But they stop working once windows loads? What's this about Number Lock, that is supposed to be on or your numeric keypad won't work mate. More info please tindap Quote
ameenrehman Posted May 16, 2008 Posted May 16, 2008 Hmm.. Try Booting up on Safe-mode:confused: It's worth a try... You claim that the Fkeys work before windows starts... Press F8 before the windows loading screen appears then up pops several options the go to the Safe-Mode option.. :o  Quote
