chape122.309 Posted March 20, 2018 Posted March 20, 2018 I built my pc about 7 months ago and it has been completely fine until a couple of days ago when I noticed that the audio coming from my pc's headphones was very muffled. If I listen to an instrumental song for example, it is mostly fine, however, lyrics or speaking in a video is non existant. I am pretty sure that the audio settings/enhancements are stuck on the karaoke mode but when I look at the settings, it says that all audio enhancements are disabled. I have tried updating the audio drivers countless times, however the problem still remains. I also just tried resetting the pc altogether and that didn't seem to do the trick either. If anyone has any idea what I can do or has any suggestions then please tell me. Thanks Quote
KenB Posted March 20, 2018 Posted March 20, 2018 Hi and welcome to ExTS Audio is not really my thing so my advice may be limited :( Have you tried a different set of headphones? If so - presumably you get the same result ? Does the problem exist if you play through a speaker system / internal speakers ? KenB Posted March 21, 2018 Posted March 21, 2018 Are you using a sound card ? If so - do you have a spare that you can try ? Quote There is an email going around offering processed pork - gelatin - and salt in a can ......this is simply SPAM !! MiniToolBoxNetwork TestWireless Test
chape122.309 Posted March 24, 2018 Author Posted March 24, 2018 I am not using a sound card at the moment and I have not got one that I can use. Quote
KenB Posted March 25, 2018 Posted March 25, 2018 I have tried updating the audio drivers I have to agree - this does sound like a software problem. When you say "updated ..." did you actually uninstall the drivers and install completely fresh software ? If not I would give this a go. Make a note of the driver software that you have installed. Download "Revo Uninstaller" from here [ the FREE version ] Download Revo Uninstaller Freeware - Free and Full Download - Uninstall software, remove programs, solve uninstall problems Install and run it. It will list all of your installed software [ and hopefully the Sound Card Drivers ] Select the software to be removed Then from the toolbar at the top click on "Uninstall" Use the default mode. This tool also searches the Registry. If you are unsure what to remove at this point - simply leave this section alone. If Revo doesn't list your drivers you can uninstall them from Device Manager. Install the new drivers. Quote There is an email going around offering processed pork - gelatin - and salt in a can ......this is simply SPAM !! MiniToolBoxNetwork TestWireless Test
