I recently downloaded an update for Malwarebytes which I now know was a free trial of the premium version.

When the trial ended I received an interface giving me the option of getting the premium version or going back to the basic free version.

I declined to premium package but now every time I boot up the interface appears on my desk top. Although I click the button saying no thanks the nagging message keeps appearing.

Can I get rid of this annoying message or am I stuck with it for evermore?

Hi Grandad,

I have sent a password reset to the email address = d--w25@-----.com

This is the email address associated with the original account.

If this fails I can reset the password and message you on GRANDAD2 with the new one.

Let me know how you get on :)

There is an email going around offering processed pork - gelatin - and salt in a can ......this is simply SPAM !!

Hi Ray

Glad it was that simple :)

Uh it wasn't so simple after all!

It has started all over again!

When i boot up the new message appears on my desk top 'an updated version of Malwarebytes is available' with the option to go ahead or click no.Obviously no is not a word they understand!

Now I see this message every time I boot up.Easy to just click no but flippin annoying!

Hi Ray,

I will ask Pete to take a look - he knows more about MBAM than I do.

Ah - you are getting a different message -

Just to confirm - has the nag-screen been sorted regarding upgrading?

As Ken has already mentioned... this isn't the same message you had originally.

This message is basically telling you that your version of MalwareBytes is now out of date and a new version is available.

Latest version is 3.4.4 and was released on March 6th.

Updating your version is the obvious answer.

If you don't want to receive notifications of new versions ( not recommended ) you can turn off the notifications.

Also, if you are running the free version of MalwareBytes.... there's no advantage in having it start with Windows.

Right click on the Taskbar icon and click on 'Start with Windows', to remove the tick.

Yes the original nag screen has been stopped

I have bitten the bullet and asked for new version of Malwarebytes to install which has been done and the nagware messages have stopped so cross fingers will be OK.

Thanks to you all for your help

Ray
