I have a spy-pen camera which is small enough to go through tunnels etc on model railways. The SD image card on it will not be formatted by windows. It just says 'windows was unable to complete the format'. I have tried googling the problem but it still; says the same thing. Any advice might help. If it helps at all I assume as it's new it will be empty. Also on that item I need to turn the camera lens through 90 degrees but it has 10 or so copper circuits laying and connecting the camera to the PCB. I can include an image of the latter if it will help.

Hi Jim

How are you attempting to format the SD Card?

Have you tried via Disk Management ?

Not too sure that I can help with the circuit problem.

Post a couple of pics to show what the circuits look like please.

There is an email going around offering processed pork - gelatin - and salt in a can ......this is simply SPAM !!

Thanks KenB for answering the help call,

I updated and found the thing configuring when I wanted to close. Remembering that it did this also on re-boot I rebooted and tried another format as you suggested under disk management. It worked, wonders will never cease. I'll try the images tomorrow early if I can. It is late at the mo.

The person who originally thought of this said that the lens needed 'teasing off' as it is only stuck on with a double sticky tape. Doing my best I have managed to 'tease off' the lens.

I can now see my way clear to mounting the 'camera' in the way I want it. So thanks for listening out loud and you can mark this as solved.

Cheers

Jim.
