HI - I posted a problem under the networking threads but so far no-one has responded and so I wondered if it should be really under the W10 section as I can't really work out if the problem is actually a network issue or an OS issue - so here is the link to the other post in the hope someone can help.

Hi joddle,

It isn't in the wrong section.

Networking is not my speciality which is why I have not responded.

Hopefully somebody else here can assist you.

Thanks KenB - however do you think the jerky mouse part is due to the network issue or something or more to do with the W10 install?

Hi,

A jerky mouse could be the drivers.

You can update / uninstall them from Device Manager.

Right click on the device and try "update drivers" first. [ you will need an internet connection ]

Failing that - uninstall.

Have the mouse connected and re-boot - Windows will find the "new" hardware.

Take a look here - there are a few ideas you can try. -

A reprieve :) - after a bit of googling discovered the PC issue might simply be dirty contacts on the power supply - so took all leads off and cleaned them with Servisol and hey presto a working PC again. BUT still got the lagging mouse and the absence of my network USB drive. The mouse only has problems when there are one or two windows open on the PC - I dont think it is down to memory size as I have another similar pc with the same memory which has no issues with the mouse. I tried changing the mouse but the effect is the same.

Hi again - - I did try those suggetions but the mouse issue did not get cured so I think I have given up on this machine for now. I simply put in the old HDD and Its running W7 without any issues but it is an old PC and low spec (Dell 755 with 2ghz processor) so I am not too bothered. Its not that important in the scheme of things as its main use is for text applications in Spanish and the odd game for the kids. It seems to have a few other issues as well and the HDD drive with W10 on it seems to have a few errors and I dont have the time to reinstall on a new disk just now. I may return to it sometime in the future but this also solves the network issue on the other thread for now. Thanks for all your help
