Borvad2 Posted April 21, 2019 Posted April 21, 2019 Been using outlook for years, so much that when I got my own house I set up folders for important house documents, forum IDs and passwords, financial things..and things for Dad, who sadly passed away a few years ago. Anyway, Outlook then started to tell me a few weeks ago that they think someone had signed into my account from an unauthorised device, and blocked me unless I gave them the last 3 emails I sent along with the subject headings...........who actually knows what the titles and last 3 emails they sent actually are??? They told me it was investigated, with contact going to another email i dont usually use. They have now told me after roughly 3 attempts the email address cant be unlocked, the password I was using is uncorrect, which I believe is not....... and they just suggest I open a new email account. Is there ANYTHING I can do to resurrect this email address with them? Quote
KenB Posted April 22, 2019 Posted April 22, 2019 Hi and welcome to ExTS If your email address had been hacked then the hacker could easily have sent emails from it. If this was the case then you would have absolutely no idea what the subject matter was or who they were sent to. Asking you for the last 3 emails WITH subject headings is, in my opinion, very unreasonable. Also - if your account was hacked then the hacker could easily have changed your password. Explain this to the people at Outlook. Try to remember some of the recent emails that you sent. Make a list of the addresses and the content. Do the same with received emails. Do the same with your address list. Names would do - nobody remembers exact email addresses. Give these details to the people at Outlook and ask them, if they are not prepared to open your locked account, how you can get your sent and received mail ? If you get no joy with the person on the end of the phone ask to speak to their supervisor. I have just tried to remember the last 3 emails I sent / received ........ I CAN'T ....... not even one !! Quote There is an email going around offering processed pork - gelatin - and salt in a can ......this is simply SPAM !! MiniToolBoxNetwork TestWireless Test
