ongarbob Posted May 28, 2019 Author Posted May 28, 2019 I right click on Pictures folder then go to properties but there is no Security tag. Quote
KenB Posted May 30, 2019 Posted May 30, 2019 Hi In post #18 you posted .... yes it looks like that with none of the ticks lit up. Presumably "Security" was there then? Has it completely disappeared? Try any image > Properties Try other folders too. Give me as much information as possible please. ongarbob Posted May 31, 2019 Author Posted May 31, 2019 Thanks, "always show icons" there are no ticks and the three choices are General, View and Search.....no Properties. nor Security. Quote
KenB Posted May 31, 2019 Posted May 31, 2019 (edited) We are getting confused. 1. Follow Option 2 again [ my post #23 ] and remove the tick against "always show icons ........" Then once you have done this ....... Click on Apply then OK Close this box Then ....... 2. Right click on the "Pictures" folder. Click on "Properties" It should look like this .... Click on the "Security" tag It should look like this.... Are there ticks underneath "Allow" ? Are they all ticked? If only a few - which ones are ticked ? If not ..... Are you an Administrator on this computer ? It will show your name in "Group or User Names" ..... see image above Edited May 31, 2019 by KenB Quote There is an email going around offering processed pork - gelatin - and salt in a can ......this is simply SPAM !! KenB Posted May 31, 2019 Posted May 31, 2019 I have nothing like you show.!!!!!! This doesn't really help me to help you. Please do the following... Locate the "Pictures" folder and right click on it. At the bottom of the box that appears click on "Properties" Now - with the "Properties" tag still open ........ On the keyboard at the top right there should be a key that says "PrtScr" Press this. This puts a copy of your screen onto the clipboard. Click on "Reply" here on the forum and hold CTRL down and press V This should paste the image of your screen in your reply. KenB Posted June 1, 2019 Posted June 1, 2019 Hi, Thanks for the screen-shot. I understand what you are doing now. You are accessing "Libraries" which is simply a "view" of folders. What you are looking at are not actual Folders. Try this: Click on the Search Orb [ bottom left corner of screen ] Type in ......... C:\users\ongarbob\my pictures ...... hit Enter key This should open the actual Pictures folder. Try printing from here. KenB Posted June 3, 2019 Posted June 3, 2019 (edited) Sadly I do not have a "Libraries" option on my Win7 machine. Try this: Open "Documents" under the Libraries heading [ see above images ] See if you can print a document from here. ================== Try this too: Open "Pictures" under the "Libraries" heading Double click on a thumbnail image This should open in the default program. There should be an option to print from here. [ File ( top left ) ...... Print ] Or you could hold CTRL down and press P Edited June 3, 2019 by KenB Quote There is an email going around offering processed pork - gelatin - and salt in a can ......this is simply SPAM !! Rustys Posted June 8, 2019 Posted June 8, 2019 If I may jump in see if this helps narrow some if it down. I may not be able to respond much due to fire season. You stated that there is an error message when you attempt to print pictures. Have you gone into the Event Viewer to see what the error was? You may need to do a new test and then look for the time and date this way you do not have to read each one to find it. Look under Printer and Devices and make sure that your printer is the Default. I could have missed it what is the default program that is used for the picture that you are attempting to print. You may have to open one if the pictures to find out. Do you have another user on that system that you can log into and see if it experiences the same issue? Quote "Confucius could give answer to that. Unfortunately, Confucius not here at moment.”
