Brian Davies Posted July 25, 2019 Posted July 25, 2019 Frequently recently when I boot my laptop, my sign in page just doesn't appear..and I just get the wallpaper with nowhere to sign in! Then I have to switch off and retry. Repeating this can take a number of hours, then the signing page suddenly appears. (So far)...........I also found my mail disappeared for half an hour then came back. Any idea what's going on and how can I remedy? Thanks for any help Brian

KenB Posted July 26, 2019 Posted July 26, 2019 Hi Brian - is this an Apple machine ? [ just looking at your profile ] There is an email going around offering processed pork - gelatin - and salt in a can ......this is simply SPAM !! MiniToolBoxNetwork TestWireless Test
KenB Posted July 26, 2019 Posted July 26, 2019 Hi Brian, Is this where you sign in with a password after switching on? Do you need this option? If not it is a simple matter to remove the password so that your machine boots straight up. Does the date and time show correctly? [ bottom right of screen ] Sometimes the CMOS battery can cause this problem. You could try ..... When the screen appears [ no option to put in password ] press any key Hold down CTRL and ALT and press the DEL key at the same time. This may give you the password box There is an email going around offering processed pork - gelatin - and salt in a can ......this is simply SPAM !! MiniToolBoxNetwork TestWireless Test
