Skyclad Posted July 29, 2019 Posted July 29, 2019 Hello.. I've recently noticed that when trying to access YouTube, it will play for a second or two then I get the following message.........An error occurred. Please try again later. (Playback ID: wTtQ9Rakmvq5VPSO).. If you would, please let me know how to take care of this issue.. I am hoping that you will know what the "Playbeck ID" might mean.. Not for sure if it's related to Windows 7, but through I would try at this locale first.. Please advise if I need to post elsewhere... As always, thanks for your help...! S Quote

ExTS Admin Starbuck Posted July 30, 2019 ExTS Admin Posted July 30, 2019 DO NOT click on the link "Recommended ...." Scroll down for the suggested fixes I don't see any 'Recommended' links ..... may well be because I use an adblocker (uBlock Origin). I see that it's blocked 3 things..... probably the links. 1 Quote Member of:UNITE
Skyclad Posted August 6, 2019 Author Posted August 6, 2019 So here's a question regarding the re-installation of the browser suggestion per the article above.. If I were to do that, would I lose all of my "favorites" on my current browser?? Trying to figure out a plan of action here and want to know what might be lost vs. the benefits of this action..... Thanks! Quote
ExTS Admin Starbuck Posted August 6, 2019 ExTS Admin Posted August 6, 2019 Most browsers will give you the option of removing your data or leaving it alone when being uninstalled. Chrome will ask if you want to keep your data (Bookmarks, passwords, history etc ) Firefox no longer asks ...... it automatically leaves the profile folder on the system. With Firefox you have to manually remove this folder after uninstalling ( if you don't want it left on the system. That said...... I'd be inclined to make a backup of the Bookmarks just to be safe. Export Firefox bookmarks to an HTML file to back up or transfer bookmarks How To Back Up Your Google Chrome Bookmarks Quote Member of:UNITE
Skyclad Posted August 8, 2019 Author Posted August 8, 2019 Thanks for that info Starbuck! I'm getting ready to uninstall Chrome shortly, and then reInstall shortly thereafter.... Hoping all of this is pretty straightforward.. If you have any further comments on the above issue, please let me know.. Thanks again! S Quote
ExTS Admin Starbuck Posted August 9, 2019 ExTS Admin Posted August 9, 2019 Hi Skyclad, As long as you have made the backup of your bookmarks you are covered. When you uninstall Chrome, it should give you the option of removing your data..... if you say no to this then you shouldn't need the backup. When you reinstall Chrome, it should then add your data back . But if it doesn't for some reason.... you have the backup to use. It should all go pretty smoothly. 1 Quote Member of:UNITE
Skyclad Posted August 12, 2019 Author Posted August 12, 2019 Just a brief note regarding my YouTube issue.. For some reason unknown to me, my computer is now playing YouTube clips just fine...........as if nothing were ever wrong.. I was preparing to reInstall Chrome per your suggestion, but did not get to that point when I discovered by accident that YouTube was now working just fine.. Have you heard of this happening with anyone else? You had mentioned that others were having similar issues with YouTube.. I am now wondering if any of those people have reported anything similar to this.. Bottom line, I think my computer is possessed....:) Will continue to monitor here, but things now appear good.. We'll see how long that lasts......! Thanks again for all your help and will be in touch if anything further "manifests".....:) S Quote
ExTS Admin Starbuck Posted August 13, 2019 ExTS Admin Posted August 13, 2019 Hi Skyclad, I discovered by accident that YouTube was now working just fine.. Have you heard of this happening with anyone else? I see that a few people have mentioned that You Tube seemed to fix itself .......... but for some this only seems to last for a few days, then it plays up again. One thing I am seeing is that this problem seems to only happen when you are signed into your Google account. Signing out seems to correct the issue. This would point to a Google account issue.... nothing to do with the computer. 1 Quote Member of:UNITE
