Hi to all,I am having the system restore problem again , I wanted to do a system restore but the only restore point I had was for the previous day . I don't have the box to the left that says more restore points. I clicked scan for affected programs and all it shows is relevant knowledge 1.3.338.311 which I have been trying to get rid of to no avail. Help and thanks in advance for any help.

Hi to all, I am having a problem with system restore, I don't have any restore points ,so I had to do one and it is all I have.

I used to have the PC make a restore point every time it restarted and if I would do a system restore I could pick from different dates. Now there is only the one I made 11-11-17 .

Any help on how to restore the old way ,thanks.

I am running Windows 8.1

Hi Jimmy,

The original setting was fine - 3.2 GB is enough to store quite a few restore points.

I was originally thinking that it may be set to nearer to zero - hence any old restore points would be automatically deleted.

This, however, should not be the case.

If you don't have the box to click for more restore points then I suspect that you only have the one available.

Try creating one manually and see if the ones from 29th Sept are kept.

Hi Jimmy,

I assume that you re-booted the machine?

The additional restore points box will not show until there are some. [additional restore points that is ]

For some reason your restore points have disappeared and will not be recoverable.

Thanks KenB Yes I rebooted it , I will keep checking to see if it sets any more restore points or I may have to do it manual. I suppose this is another one you have solved, thanks.
