kevfiley Posted November 16, 2019 Posted November 16, 2019 Hi I hope someone can tell me what I am doing wrong here :) My pc was hacked, supposedly someone from Amazon has took control of my pc, I have been trying to use command prompt to get to the addresses and port numbers, so that I can enter the scammers numbers and end process. however once I entered 'netstat ano' and pressed enter I am not getting the numerical lists, I am getting the explanations for the section that I require, it shows -n to open (addresses and port numbers in numerical form) but this is where I am stuck, how do I get past the -n. and have the lists displayed. I hope someone can put me right here, thankyou Kev Quote

ExTS Admin Starbuck Posted November 17, 2019 ExTS Admin Posted November 17, 2019 My pc was hacked, supposedly someone from Amazon has took control of my pc, I have heard of Amazon accounts being hacked for the purpose of ordering stuff illegally. Normally the account is hacked and then the passwords etc are changed so that the original owner can't get access anymore. This has happened to people that I know and the way to gain control again is to report this to Amazon and have them reset everything for you. Plus if anything had been ordered from the account, Amazon would have all the details.... such as email address, delivery address etc. This info would be a lot more beneficial to you or the police. But you say that they took control of your PC ...... this is completely different from just hacking an Amazon account. As Ken has asked .... How do you actually know your PC was taken control of? I have been trying to use command prompt to get to the addresses and port numbers, so that I can enter the scammers numbers and end process. I can't quite see how this info would be of benefit to you. What have you actually done to the PC so far ..... in regards to running security/anti malware software, clearing any firewall rules that shouldn't be there. If someone has actually taken control of your PC, you need to find out how they did it and what software they used etc. This should be the first step ... secure your PC again. What security software do you normally have running on your system? Quote Member of:UNITE
ExTS Admin Starbuck Posted November 17, 2019 ExTS Admin Posted November 17, 2019 (edited) BTW: referring to your original post: I entered 'netstat ano' and pressed enter I am not getting the numerical lists, I am getting the explanations for the section that I require, it shows -n to open (addresses and port numbers in numerical form) but this is where I am stuck, how do I get past the -n. and have the lists displayed. Do you understand what the parameters actually do....... netstat -n = Numerical display of addresses and port numbers netstat -ano = lists all open ports and active connections numerically, including process ID. Make sure there's a space after the 't'. and a '-' before the parameters (as above) Edited November 17, 2019 by Starbuck Quote Member of:UNITE
