Rustys Posted January 18, 2020 Posted January 18, 2020 What version of Windows and release? What security software are you running? Does this happen when you are directly connected to the modem and or router? Lets try using some commands to reset the network. Open a Admin Command Prompt and type type the following commands and press enter each one then reboot the system. ipconfig /flushdns netsh winsock reset catalog netsh int ip reset c:\resetlog.txt ipconfig /release ipconfig /renew netsh int ipv4 reset netsh int ipv6 reset Let us know how things go. 1 Quote "Confucius could give answer to that. LBrown32 Posted January 18, 2020 Author Posted January 18, 2020 Thanks for reply. Is windows 10 not sure release where can I find this? Security just windows defender Just done as requested system is restarting as I type Just rebooted - no change, dropped within 10 seconds. I am not directly connected to router as to far, running off a belkin dongle, which diagnostics say is fine. It shows it’s picking up signal just loses internet connection? Quote
LBrown32 Posted January 18, 2020 Author Posted January 18, 2020 Just shows this alongside usual stuff from previous message Quote
KenB Posted January 18, 2020 Posted January 18, 2020 Hi running off a belkin dongle These dongles can be problematic. Do you have an ethernet cable to try - connected direct to the router ? KenB Posted January 19, 2020 Posted January 19, 2020 Let us know how you get on with the ethernet cable :) Quote There is an email going around offering processed pork - gelatin - and salt in a can ......this is simply SPAM !! MiniToolBoxNetwork TestWireless Test
Rustys Posted January 20, 2020 Posted January 20, 2020 Like Ken stated dongles are usually weak and can not send and receive very far or through walls and stuff very well. Couple of other things you could try is power line connectors that will use you own house hold power lines to connect with. Other maybe an internal WiFi card if this is a desktop.
