Hello Karl

Welcome to Extreme Tech Support - Free PC Help

I'd upload them to Photobucket and then put the video image link in your posts.

Example:

This is not strictly a video file but you get my drift.

What is the file extension Karl?

Mine is obviously a utube video that I converted to .wmv although it shows as .flv in the link.

The file size is way too big anyway mate.

Short films that is 870mb, ive see full movies that is less than that. the file extensin is *.avi or *.mpeg or *.mp4. You can try to convert it to a different format.

You say you have a short clip, well 870mb is not short.

Is that figure the accumulation of all the clips?

A file extension is like I mentioned .wmv or .flv

Hello Karl

If you just want to copy a few files up to a location on the Web for use by friends or other forum members then 870MB is often too big for most sites. It is also typically too big for most users to want to view online but that's up to you guys.

Probably the largest free service for copying that data up to the Internet is Rapidshare but they too won't allow a single file of that size. If it has to be a single file then Megaupload allows 500MB but not 870 unless you have a paid account.

There is also Netload but again the free accounts don't allow a singe file of that size

Megaupload Home Page

Netload Home Page

Without splitting the file size I'm not sure of any site that allows a free account to upload such a large file (they also typically will delete the file after a certain period of inactivity - unless you use a Paid Account)

You could use a free program called HJSPLIT to split the file into a couple of pieces and then upload it. Users would have to download the parts though and recombine them using HJSPLIT
