I have a Samsung P510 with 4GB Ram and a 2.2GHz processor. There is a 500GB hard disk which is less than half full. I've done everything I can to get the laptop working properly. Someimtes I can just left click everything and it all runs normally but most of the time it's really strugling. I've done all the usual thins like emprtying caches and just about everything else. Nothing seems to work. I have another laptop on order but I don't know when that will come as deliveries seem to be quite delayed at the moment. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I have scanned for viruses and malware, restarted, emptied the Ram cache and reallocated some of the memory.

Hi and welcome to ExTS

1. - Check to see if you have two AVs running.

If you have, this can slow down your machine.

2. - If you can access the RAM easily check to see if you have 2 modules.

If you have - remove one and try the machine now.

If that gives the same result or worse - swap the modules over and run on the second module.

I am thinking that you may have a faulty RAM module.

The manual for your machine is here - click here

It's showing the ram as available but I'll give it a try. When I reallocated the memory it worked normally for a whole day. Thank you.

Just because it is showing the RAM as "available" is no indication that it is working properly.

Run on one at a time and let me know the results. :)

I've tried removing each of the ram modules and I think one works a bit better than the other. It might be an idea to buy a new ram module and see it it helps.
