[Solved] New gel mouse mat problem

Sorry if this post is in the wrong place, but its such a stupid problem and I don't know where to place it. The problem is I bought a new gel mouse mat but my mouse will not work on it I can scroll but that's it nothing else at all. If I put mouse back on old mat all is fine. can it be the fact that it is a GEL mouse mat, I'm puzzled.

Hi and welcome to ExTS

 

Try cleaning the underside of the mouse and give the mouse mat a clean too.

I know it is a new mat but it may have a "finish" on it that your mouse doesn't like.

 

Is your mouse wireless / USB ?

If it is battery powered - have you tried a new battery ?

Thanks for your reply, It is working now after a light sanding with fine sand paper lol, it was kill or cure as it was useless the way it was could not return it as receipt had been thrown away.
