Mic stopped working

My headset mic suddenly stopped working but I can still hear audio with them. I factory reset my PC reinstalled Realtek still the same. I've used the mic itself on my phone so it's most likely something wrong on the PC

Hi Bard,

 

Obvious thing first is to make sure that the microphone is actually enabled in the PC settings.

Try this...

Click on 'Search' and type in control panel.

Click on the Control Panel app at the top to open.

When Control panel opens, scroll down and select Sound

Select the Recording tab and make sure there's a tick on the microphone icon.

If there's no tick, you can configure the microphone settings from there.

yeah, should have mentioned that I tried that too. Sadly it didn't work.

Just a few questions......

So you have used this headset previously on the PC and it worked fine ?

So the headset works on your phone, but not on the PC ?

Did anything change recently on the PC..... was there any updates etc?
