Manteray Posted February 19, 2021 Posted February 19, 2021 Win 10 8" tablet boots into uefi(shell) instead of windows, worst part is that the tablet is not responding to touch and a connected keyboard is not working, i can access the bios via the power/volume button but still unable to get passed the bios options screen as no control, the touch screen should be fine as the tablet is brand new and only used 1 time(for 20 mins) then left for over 1 year and was charged and started many times during that period then one day it just went into this problem. The tablet i believe is a generic budget tablet made in china by the millions and rebranded under many names. Tablet version is "Time2 T810B" Processor: Intel Atom Z3725F, 1gb memory,32gb storage. Does anyone have any helpful info on how to resolve this issue which does not including using a bin. Many thanks. Quote
KenB Posted February 21, 2021 Posted February 21, 2021 (edited) Hi and welcome to ExTS I have not come across one of these tablets before. The manual for your device is here - click here Take a look at page 12 - Emergency Re-Boot This may restore the touch facility. If you can't navigate inside the "BIOS" then there is very little that you can do. :( I found a specific tablet forum that may be able to help you further click here Edited February 21, 2021 by KenB 1 Quote There is an email going around offering processed pork - gelatin - and salt in a can ......this is simply SPAM !! Manteray Posted February 22, 2021 Author Posted February 22, 2021 Thanks KenB for your kind reply, i have used the reboot function to no avail. I thought a picture of the issue might help in some way, this is what it boots into. As for the other info you supplied i will try with the forum you suggested. Many thanks. Quote
KenB Posted February 23, 2021 Posted February 23, 2021 Thanks for the image. Try this: Shut down completely. [ hold the Power Button for 5 - 10 seconds ] Turn on again - then immediately turn off by the Power Button. Do this repetedly [ it will need 3 or 4 times ] The machine should enter "Recovery Environment" to allow you to repair. Locate "Troubleshoot" - "Advanced Options" Try "Startup Repair". If that doesn't work try "Reset this PC" Be careful to select "Keep files" otherwise you will lose music / photos etc. Resetting the PC WILL REMOVE installed software. Manteray Posted February 24, 2021 Author Posted February 24, 2021 Thanks again KenB for your reply. I tried your recommendation and to no avail(approx 20 times in a row in the end). I can only get to the bios as per pic and can only switch from box 1 to the box below via the volume rocker, no access to other functions, i have tried connecting a mouse/keyboard(as mentioned) and touch. Although the tablet is old as in years its brand new in usage and worked perfectly when purchased, its not fast but the only reason it wasn't used was because the wife could not work it or indeed see it properly(she got frustrated), so after 20 minutes of me playing with it i put it aside. I have been on the android tablet forum and not had info back as yet(not expecting much as they solely do android) but still worth a go. I'm resigned to stripping the tablet down for a possible screen salvage and get a power board to use it as a standby/portable monitor for my phone. Thanks for your assistance KenB. Quote
KenB Posted February 24, 2021 Posted February 24, 2021 Frustrating - but if you have no means of navigating the screens it is a virtual impossible task. Let me know if you get any further with it. 1 Quote There is an email going around offering processed pork - gelatin - and salt in a can ......this is simply SPAM !!
