Hi all

I did a search from my servers and it got the Windows server 2003 SP 2 to

install. Is this a new update or how long ago was it released?

Exhange guys, Is it advisable to install this on the Windows Server 2003

that runs Exch2003 SP2

Thanks for the comments

There's no known issues installing Windows 2003 SP2 onto Exchange

2003/SP1/SP2, however you enviroment may very well be different.

Have you got a test lab to push the SP too?

It was released (or did it escape?) in March, I think. I haven't heard any

reports of things breaking.

None so far. I dont think you'll see too many issues with Exchange. I

would also ensure any apps on the server are supported with SP2.

Tons of problems with SP2 in the SBS group. I'm afraid to install it on

any SBS box or Exchange box based on what I've read.

Hi, can you help me out and be more specific pls - i have exch2003 SP2 and

the last thing on earth what i want is for my exchange to be screwed and

that because of SP2. My exchange is so critical i will rather leave the SP

than putting my exchange at risk.

There are not many issues known with Exchange 2003 SP2 and Windows 2003 SP2.

Only with SBS2003 there are problems known.

So do the upgrade in the weekend and if you run into problems deinstall it.

I would recommend you do not uninstall a service pack. The application

of a windows service pack reindexes the database. Better to move

mailboxes to another server, rebuild the server and move them back.

Re: Windows Server 2003 Service Pack 2

So did you update to window server sp2 yet? If so, how did it go? I am

planning to update my exchange 2003 sp2 server to server 2003 sp2 tomorrow.

Fortunately (or unfortunately, depending how you look at it,) we have an

active/ passive exchange 2003 cluster, so if the windows server sp2 hose the

server, we'll run off the other cluster member until we fix it. Though I hope

that our BES 4.0 is ok with us updating our exchange server to sp2.....
