Clean install of Windows XP "Hangs"

I started yesterday to do a clean install and with help from Ken and Gordon

obtained detailed instructions of the process.

I manage to get into the installation as far as Windows "installing Devices"

and it stops at about 65%. I've done this twice and waited an hour although

the screen has indicted "Setup will complete in approximantly:33 minutes" and

stayed there for some 40 minutes .

Am I just being impatient and shoud wait even longer. or should I remove

some of the hardware like the graphics card and install it later after the

Windows installation is complete?

Thanks

Thanks very much the link to the knowledge base gave me th info I needed to

get through the basic installation and I'm now doing all the updates. Very

much appreciated. Not sure how to indicate that my question is answered and

completed.
