Guest theodore Posted July 5, 2007 Posted July 5, 2007 Occasionally (but not always) when I right click on a file name in Explorer to get the drop-down menu, the file instantly disappears. It's not in the recycle bin, or anywhere else. This system is Windows XP Pro maintained to the latest maintenance and security levels. Currently I have to do backups before I touch any files, as there is no recoverability (that I know of).

Right-click is slow or weird behavior caused by context menu handlers: http://windowsxp.mvps.org/slowrightclick.htm -- Joe =o)
