Guest SD Posted July 5, 2007 Posted July 5, 2007 Does Open Office read file extension with .pps. I have power point installed but can't view some emails I receive that have the extension .pps. I understand they can be read if you have the full MS office program. Thanks

But if Open Office can read them, you just need to associate the pps filetype with the Open Office application. http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=428D5727-43AB-4F24-90B7-A94784AF71A4&displaylang=en On the other hand, you may have Outlook Express configured to not allow launching attachments: this is under Tools, Options, Security. But not automatically - there's a free add-in to start the show automatically AFAIR....
Guest SD Posted July 5, 2007 Posted July 5, 2007 Re: Open Office Patrick, Gordon, thanks for your replies. I have free Power point viewer but regardless in what directory I install the email with the .pps extension it does not find or recognize it. Outlook Express not configured to prevent attachments from loading. Guest RalfG Posted July 5, 2007 Posted July 5, 2007 Re: Open Office Right click and Save the attachment alone to your harddrive, then open it. If it isn't corrupt it should open in either PPViewer or Open Office. Guest RalfG Posted July 5, 2007 Posted July 5, 2007 Re: Open Office Are you sure that you don't have the OE Security option set to not open or save possibly dangerous attachments?
