Does Open Office read file extension with .pps. I have power point installed

but can't view some emails I receive that have the extension .pps. I

understand they can be read if you have the full MS office program.

Thanks

They can also be read with the free Power Point Viewer. But if Open

Office can read them, you just need to associate the pps filetype with the

Open Office application.

On the other hand, you may have Outlook Express configured to not allow

launching attachments: this is under Tools, Options, Security.

Yes it can. But not automatically - there's a free add-in to start the show

automatically AFAIR....

Patrick, Gordon, thanks for your replies. I have free Power point viewer but

regardless in what directory I install the email with the .pps extension it

does not find or recognize it. Outlook Express not configured to prevent

attachments from loading.

Thanks again

Re: Open Office

Right click and Save the attachment alone to your harddrive, then open it.

If it isn't corrupt it should open in either PPViewer or Open Office.

Re: Open Office

RaifG,

Right clicking on the attachment does not give me a save option.

Re: Open Office

Are you sure that you don't have the OE Security option set to not open or

save possibly dangerous attachments? OE Tools-Options-Security tab.
