Guest Pearl Posted July 5, 2007 Posted July 5, 2007 I have a computer at home that is always on....cable internet. I have a laptop that I take on the road. My question is: Can I do a remote assistance to my home computer to get to some files while on the road? In other words, how can i get remote control to my own computer at home with Remote Assistance.

You can try using Remote Desktop, this will require you using a Dynamic DNS service to establish a URL. This can be done for free. UltraVNC can work, but you may find that corporate firewalls block it. HTH -pk
