Guest yawnmoth Posted July 5, 2007 Posted July 5, 2007 Say I wanted to turn my Windows XP machine into a wireless access point. How would I do that? Would enabling Internet Connection Sharing be sufficient?

My son bought a USB device that lets him use other peoples connections and also broadcast his connection to the pc's with wireless in our home. Not very fast at all, but very cheap. -- http://www.bootdisk.com/

I have one, already. However, let's just say that a router does not suite my purposes. I want to send wireless traffic through a *computer* so that I may perform an analysis of the traffic - an analysis that I would not be able to perform with a router. If you must know, specifically, I'm trying to capture packets sent by select mobile devices with Wireshark. I can't install Wireshark on these devices nor can I install it on a router.
