Guest BertP Posted July 7, 2007 Posted July 7, 2007 Any idea is appreciated: WAX Dell Lap Top. Is there any reason that the desktop display does not fill up the entire screen at a 1024X768 resolution or any other resolution after the computer boots up? The display is perfect for a second or 2 and then it reduces and the left and right portion of the screen is black for about an inch. If I go to Control Panel/Display/Settings should the 2 boxes be checked? i.e.. "use this device as the primary monitor and Extend my windows desktop onto this monitor"?
Guest Ron Badour Posted July 7, 2007 Posted July 7, 2007 Re: Display Bert, My Dell laptop does not have those two settings so I have no experience with them. Either give them a shot and see what the results are or consider using your resource CD to reinstall the display adapter driver. You could also check the Dell web site to see if an updated driver is available. As a matter of interest, when I use less than the 1024 x 768 setting, I have a black area on all four sides--not just left and right. -- Regards Ron Badour MS MVP 1997 - 2007 "BertP" <22picks1@verizon.net> wrote in message news:%23HFKhKEwHHA.4916@TK2MSFTNGP04.phx.gbl... > Any idea is appreciated: > WAX Dell Lap Top.
