Guest DavidB Posted July 7, 2007 Posted July 7, 2007 None of my three Win98 computers have Power Management capability, yet one of them puts "Stand by" as a choice on the shut down menu. What causes the difference in these menu lists? Can I modify it to remove the "Stand by" choice?
Guest glee Posted July 7, 2007 Posted July 7, 2007 Re: Tweaking Shutdown Menu The information I have is for enabling the Suspend option, not for disabling it, but you may be able to extrapolate from this info how to do what you want. Standby Missing From Windows Shutdown Dialog Box : http://support.microsoft.com?kbid=188134 Windows shutdown problems http://support.microsoft.com/kb/835640/en-gb If Standby appears in the shutdown choices on one of the machines, it probably does support more power management than you think. -- Glen Ventura, MS MVP Shell/User, A+ http://dts-l.org/ http://dts-l.org/goodpost.htm "DavidB" <#davidb105#@sbcglobal.net> wrote in message news:468fe3a6.250616092@news.dallas.sbcglobal.net... > None of my three Win98 computers have Power Management capability, > yet one of them puts "Stand by" as a choice on the shut down menu. > > What causes the difference in these menu lists?
