Guest coastergeez Posted July 9, 2007 Posted July 9, 2007 Strange problem started...whenever I want to use a USB thumbdrive or my USB external harddrive, Windows says found new hardware then the Found New Hardware Wizard appears. I have tried letting it search for the driver and also tried picking some from \system32\drivers as well as the i386 directory. I reloaded my updated for SP2 as well the hotfix for Windows XP 226205 to no avail. My USB mouse still works, seems to be anything drive related. Anyone know whats going on here and how do I get the drivers back? I even removed all the USB related items in device manager, redetected and it loaded everything back but my USB drives still dont work. TIA
