Guest debg Posted July 9, 2007 Posted July 9, 2007 I let my granddaughter play a game on my laptop and now for some unknown reason, I have no start button or taskbar. I have only found information on how to find the taskbar by right-clicking on the Start button, or to move the cursor to the area where the taskbar is located to have it reappear. None of this is working. Any ideas?

None of > this is working. Any ideas? There are several possibilities for why. Here's the most likely: The task bar is resizable, like a window. You may have accidentally resized it to zero lines high. Put the cursor on the bottom of the screen and move it up and down slightly until it turns into a double-headed arrow. Then click and drag it to the size you want. If that doesn't work, it may be zero lines high on another side of the screen, so try on all four sides. Finally, if none of those work, go to http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_abc.htm, click T, then under Taskbar, click Taskbar is Missing. -- Ken Blake, Microsoft MVP Windows - Shell/User Please Reply to the Newsgroup
