In your BIOS, there should be a setting for "Onboard Video" or "Integrated Video". That should be set to Disable.

Before doing that, to avoid complications, I would also suggest uninstalling the drivers for all other video cards and chipsets on your machine.

You are still trying to install the new graphics card - Yes Click here

As you don't have an old card because its on-board, removing the old card in your case would be to disable it.

Hi When you go into the BIOS go to PnP/PCI Configurations and check that by Primary Graphic's Adapter is set to AGP.

Does it have any options by :

SIS ONCHIP IDE DEVICE

SIS ONCHIP PCI DEVICE

ONBOARD SUPER IO DEVICE

Yes enable pci/vga.

You dont have to enable ESCD this is for storing information about Plug and Play devices in BIOS

Hi steve.

You are plugging the monitor cable in the new graphics card when you have it in your pc? Is there anything on the screen with the new graphic card in? Can you get into the BIOS with the new card?

Hi steve

Or you must do the following :

Take out the card

Start windows normally with the onboard graphics

Right-click "My computer" and select properties, click the hardware tab and click on device manager.

Click the + by Display adapters, and right click on the adapter for the onboard graphics and slect disable (Note: Do not uninstall) Apply changes.

Now shut down your pc.

Put in the new card, connect the monitor cable to it and start your pc.

Go to the BIOS and look for anyting that says onboard vga and disable it(should be only one entry) normally under Advanced Features.

Get back to us if you get stuck.
