Guest Lars-Erik Østerud Posted July 10, 2007 Posted July 10, 2007 Even if the file-type setup is set right (as always) XP is asking what program I like to open the files in (on WAV, MP3, WMV etc). Some other types always open in "sound recorder" (the old one) even when the file-type is set to Media Player. Why is XP not using my settings? -- Lars-Erik - http://www.osterud.name - ICQ 7297605

Use my current program. And allow access to "Media Player", "RealPlayer" and "QuickTime" Strange thing is that if I manually reset all media types (from "File types") actions. THEN reassign then inside Media Player 10, tyey work. But as soon as I start "RealPlayer" (even if no associations are changed) the next time I click a media file it ask what program to use. And when I check the actions for the "File type" they still have PLAY and OPEN (with media PLayer) both those are not in the file context menu anymore (only "Open with"). Haven't installed anything. Just was this way after my vacation. Must be som update to some program that has messed up something :-/ -- Lars-Erik - http://www.osterud.name - ICQ 7297605
