As usual the computer automatically downloads

security updates, but this time I get the

following message.

"Security Update for Microsoft .NET

Framework, Version 2.0 (KB928365)"

Why does this happen and how can I get around

it?

Please help, Frank

RE: Security update failed.

Hi Frank,

I'm getting the same problem. The process initialises and then an attempt

is made to instal but a short message 'Failed' appears before I get a box

telling me that the installation was not successful.

Any solution would be much appreciated.

Cheers

Re: Security update failed.

Download the KB928365 security update file directly from

http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=ba3ceb78-8e1b-4c38-adfd-e8bc95ae548d&DisplayLang=en

and install it (NDP20-KB928365-X86.exe).

Re: Security update failed.

Hi Carey,

I tried your recommendation but received an error "This package could not be

opened. Verify that the package exists.........etc"

I am using the latest Windows Installer, is it, perhaps, the wrong version

for the package?

Re: Security update failed.

Thanks, I did this and it worked OK though I

only downloaded the one with the 14.7Mb size

program because this was a similar size to

the one that didn't work before.

Should I get rid of the old failed program,

and if so where can I find it?

Regards, Frank
