Guest Ray Posted July 13, 2007 Posted July 13, 2007 WindowsXP Pro SP2 In Documents and Settings ....jpi_cache\file\1.0 ... there is a list of 1,362 items. The earliest one is dated May 2003 and the latest is dated Aug 2006. There are none dated 2007. They are mostly 1K. Are these listings necessary or can they be removed safely? -- Ray __________

Yes, these seem to be the Java Plugin cache files. If you Google "jpi_cache", you'll find quite a few instructions on clearing out your Java cache. I don't have Sun Java installed on this system at the moment. Jon.
Guest davy Posted July 14, 2007 Posted July 14, 2007 Re: Are these files necessary? Sounds like Java cache files, which you can clear out by going into Java plugin cach folder. This should help 'Clearing the Java Runtime Environment (JRE) Cache - 1.5.0' (http://www.java.com/en/download/help/5000020300.xml) Davy
